MISSION Communications introduces the M1000 series RTU. The M1000 builds on the proven MISSION cellular to web SCADA platform, and is compatible with all existing MISSION systems. The new RTU includes a Modbus connection and preprogrammed communications for off the shelf controllers such as the US Filter LC150, Multitrode Multi Smart, MPE SC1000 and Dwyer MPC 232. More controllers will be added in the future. The Modbus communications provides plug and play simplicity, reads all pertinent controller data and allows for remote, web based programming of controller set points. The M1000 also provides battery backup power for level sensors and can act as a stand alone back up controller in the event of primary controller failure.
Just as the centrally operated MISSION SCADA system provides continuous feature updates, so does the M1000. In another industry first, the M1000 allows for remote program updates. This results in a virtually obsolescence-proof system and no field programming.
The M1000 can also be used as a standard monitoring and control RTU. The RTU comes with four analog inputs, eight digital inputs, three relay outputs, embedded power supply, back up battery and electronic key reader. The units I/O can be expanded via Modbus cards to include more digital I/O and even analog outputs.
As with all MISSION cellular RTU's, the M1000 series uses the new third generation cellular services and modems. Transmissions are 128 bit encrypted and all data is behind carrier firewalls and is never viewable on the public Internet. The M1000 can operate on the AT&T, Alltel, Sprint and Verizon networks or blend seamlessly into traditional SCADA software.
